True story: In September 2019, Dutch police arrested a man in Utrecht for shoplifting. He had a small bird with him at the time. When the police took the man into custody, they also brought the bird to the station. The officers placed it in a small cell and gave it bread and water. When the media reported on the incident, they included a photo of the bird in custody. To protect its identity, they added a small black bar over its eyes.
